Welcome to the Public Works Department

Manager of Public Works: Darrell Ghostkeeper

The Public Works Department is dedicated to maintaining and improving the infrastructure and services of our community. Here are the key services we offer:

  • Water Services:
    • Steamer services for thawing frozen water lines.
    • Annual flushing of the water mainline, typically in the spring.
    • Regular cleaning and resealing of water tanks, including collar replacements.
  • Sewer Services:
    • Replacement of broken sewer pumps.
    • Upkeep of sewer lift stations.
    • Assistance with any sewer-related emergencies.
  • Road Services:
    • Regular grading of roads in our three communities to keep them safe and accessible.
  • Heating and Plumbing:
    • Furnace maintenance, including the replacement of necessary parts.
    • Responding to propane freeze-ups and managing emergency propane services (100 lb. tanks as required).
    • Fixing toilets and replacing fixtures as needed.
    • Supporting Cadotte School with any plumbing-related issues.
  • Emergency Services:
    • Coordination with Northern Sunrise County for maintenance of the water treatment plant and notification of water shut-offs.
    • Communication with ATCO Electric during power outages to relay information to residents.
  • Contracted Services:
    • Utilizing Chetal Enterprises for backhoe services for digging lines and repairs related to water and sewer infrastructure.
  • Community Guidelines:
    • Homeowners are encouraged to regularly check their water and sewer tanks and maintain their propane supply.
    • Homeowners should replace their furnace filters to ensure heating efficiency.
  • Additional Support:
    • The department assists our Elders and other residents as needed, particularly with plumbing and heating issues.
